How long have you worked at Origin CPA Group?
I started as an intern in January 2016 and joined the Origin CPA Group firm full-time in the summer of 2017.
What do you like most about your job?
The variety it entails. I constantly meet new and interesting people who present unique problems to solve.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
How important it is to be my authentic self. I don’t always need to replicate someone else’s approach and can carve my own path.
What are the values that drive you?
Curiosity, authenticity, reliability, and honesty
What do you enjoy doing during off season?
Running, exploring new hiking trails, reading, and golf.
What is your favorite part about working on the OCG team?
The people. I enjoy the comradery, collaborative approach to projects, and the family environment.
What would you consider your greatest achievement thus far?
Graduating law school and passing the bar exam on the first try. There were several times I was ready to quit and I’m proud of my perseverance. I developed lifelong skills I use every day.
What charity organization are you most passionate about?
Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation
What is your favorite book?
Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. I initially discovered this book because of my drive to run more frequently, but also found it to be a very interesting look at how to push your body and mind to achieve something that doesn’t seem possible.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
Busch Stadium in St. Louis. I have so many great memories from growing up of summer nights with family or friends watching Cardinals baseball.
